A Conversation with Sun Diego Boardshops

The 1980s were a great and crazy time for surfing! The neon colors, the hairdos (or hairdonts) and trendy styles have come and gone, but great brands and shops have stood the test of time. In this week’s episode we sat down with Dave Nash and Pete Censoplano of Sun Diego Boardshops. Listen to how a military kid born in Japan and raised in Missouri opened a great boardshop in the golden 80s!

What makes great leaders? Sometimes it takes humility, and Pete has certainly shown that through his 26-year-run with Sun Diego (and still going strong!). Sun Diego seems like a great place to work. No wonder they have had so many loyal customers and staff over the years!!

The Wolf of Beach Street is what we’d like to call Dave Nash, the president of Sun Diego Boardshops. He was drafted during the Vietnam War and fortunately was stationed stateside. He worked for a sporting goods chain and worked his way into being the executive Vice President at the age of 27!
