I grew up in Del Mar surfing 15th and Rick Lasch was known as the best surfer to ever come out of Del Mar (Morgan Wright too). I don’t surf 15th much anymore, but if he was out I though he was the coolest, ripping so hard, best cutbacks. As a beginner I would follow him around the lineup on big south swells trying to copy his style. Not sure if this came up, but we all want to know if 15th used to be a better wave. We all think it did, but we could be tripping.
