Jay Larson and Lyndon Cabellon's surf podcast

We sit down with surfers and surf shops and talk about the surfing life and what it means to us and our communities!

A Conversation with Ed Sakal of Sakal Surfboards

Our guest this week is a Surfboard Shaper and Shop owner that found his love for Surfing in 1959.  He surfed in the WSA’s as a Grom and was sponsored by Greg Noll.  He found love for board building while living in Hawaii and worked for Greg, Mystic and Lightning Bolt Surfboards.  When he moved back home he opened up his own factory Sakal Glassing and shaping boards for ET Surfboards and other shops and eventually opened up a retail store called “Bullit Surfboards” in Huntington Beach. He later changed the name to Sakal Surfboards and moved the shop to Downtown on Main Street where the shop is still located and family ran for the last 34 years.  We welcome to the show, Mr. Ed Sakal  Sakal Surfboards.
